To my armchair activists

Psst... Hey Facebook Activists, please keep in mind that your friends on Facebook are part of your network.  Facebook states average user has about 130 friends, but many of us have many, many more contacts listed.   In most cases, the majority of the Friends represent the various relationships we have form over the years-even pre-FB.

With that stated, we must keep in mind that we associate with those with which we see commonalities- those with our interests and our common pursuits.  Your politically charged posts, in most cases, are viewed solely by your network. Every like and comment reinforces the confirmation bias we all have and and frankly enjoy. Who doesn't appreciate the agreement and the belief that other view issues congruently?  But where is your message going when only your choir is being preached to?
This could be a very dangerous practice that continues to compartmentalize our thinking and may enable apathy under the facade of the rhetoric. I must admit that at times I have displayed a proclivity for this type of messaging as well, however; I also make a conserted effort to participant beyond this digital arena.

We must be sure that we move our rhetoric to actually relieving the suffering in your community and organizing our neighbors toward a collective prosperty.

Don't let your rhectoric reign without a equal response of action.

My .02

Be well.

Many nights, I cry...

and have asked, what if my tears were traded for clinched fists?
If anguish was related to the loss of riches rather than loss of love ones.
What if my desire for truth and righteousness was never emancipated from the chains of selfishness and delusion?

What if my obedience was distant and not so...civil?

Sanctioned human trafficking, starvation among food surpluses, rampant disease with cures "unattainable", a multitude of perpetual wars...the world is burning and the pain seems to be recognized by only a few seemed to not be fully aware of civic efficacy.

I pray that LOVE continues to motivate me and free me from anguish.
I pray that LOVE for people continues to supersede and blinds the lust of the eyes.
I pray that LOVE keeps me.
I pray that LOVE temper my frustrations and utter anger with principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and the spiritual wickedness in high places.

You should pray for the same.

"Poor" Vision

Proverbs 22:9

King James Version (KJV)

9He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

Many fail to obtain the bountiful blessings of God, for they see only with their poor eyes and have an "impoverished" vision and fail terribly to see the wealth of the Kingdom before them.

Some of us have a poor vision of self, leading to self-doubt, self-sabotage, and ultimately self-defeat.

Others may have a poor view of their situation and see only the attacks, the pain of living in this world, consequently unable to see the grace, revelation and strength God provides us to press through and accomplish the purpose of existence. (Please understands God sovereignty!)

We must strive and cannot fail in obtaining a faith-centered paradigm or we will continue to be stuck in these circumabulations of thought, reason, distractions-unable to see the centered meditation that, "...my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." If you are in the faith, this is a key to your faith. Do not refuse to be intentional about being faithful, for your reward will correspond to your faith.

Within the Kingdom some aspects of life work in reverse. They are total opposite from what learned prior to adoption and completely oxymoronic at times.

Ex: To be great you must be less; to be a leader, you must follow as a servant; to receive, you must give.

A poor view or vision is a self-hindrance to the promise He has provided .

Poor vision hinders the bountiful eye. The bountiful eye allows you to see beyond the present predicaments to see the possibilities and blessings of the future as well as in this moment.

Thank God for those bountiful eyes, for they provide an intrinsic motivation and hope surpassing understanding and allows you to see what other cannot or will ever attempt.

Don't live in the paradigm of lack and scarcity, change your point of view and change your position in life.

FYI: this is not a blog on giving, but rather my belief and reflection on how giving of yourself reaps much and how paradigms may be intentionally created and torn down.

Why Service and Spiritual Efficacy walk together

In a previous post, I attempted to provide, in my opinion, a fair illustration of the collision between my "faith" and "secular" work. Over the years I was able to see and feel the crossover of the diametrically opposed worlds until, finally, I understood my reality. I was ministering...period. I was serving as a Disciple of Christ to the unsaved, unsavory world as well as to the, at times, reluctant and confused church.

Within this work, my scales began to fall and I understood moreover that, "..he that is greatest among you shall be your servant..." The Word of God provide crucial details of how important service is to your neighbor and community. Continue to read the old and new testaments-service is themed throughout.

As a nonprofit professional, there is not a more substantive manual and program report for service than that within our and THE Word of God. The cannon is chock full of policies, procedures and tasks. It provides background research, service impact reports, and of course best practices, insurance policies, and indeed how to complete procurement requests.

This stated, our attitudes toward service reflects our satisfaction (spiritual contentment) with the many blessings of God (grace) and there is [should be] an undeniably strong sense of duty in response to the grace that abounds in our lives.

Spiritual efficacy is not only one's belief in God and his power, but one's belief in the possession of such power from the Holy Spirit!

In ministry, understanding and building a believer's spiritual efficacy is crucial to the creation of intrinsic motivation to serve.
